Using/Tracing PDF Plan(s) in Chief Architect

You’ll notice in this video window you’ll have the option to click on multiple videos in the upper left-hand corner of the window. This is to show the step-by-step process for building the floors and editing the overall heights using Floor Default Settings. I formatted it this way to minimize the amount of scrolling on this page.

Option 2: Importing AutoCAD DWG file for Modeling

This video lesson has been recorded as a reference for using AutoCAD DWG files to model in Chief Architect. I don’t generally recommend this because it requires a particular level of organization for both the Interior Designer and the draftsman/architect providing the DWG set.

If you do decide to use the DWG option, you can use the same wall tool, Floor Level Formation, and wall plate references above to build your model. Just swap out the trace methodologies.

Formatting Foundation/Basement Level

There are two ways you can go about building the foundation, either modeling it without referencing the floor above or by using the exterior walls above to auto-build the foundation walls. I show you how to use the Autobuild option, while also being able to edit it.
